FAQ ABOUT HAIR EXTENSIONS
With years of experience working in the film and television industries, Susan Lipson is set apart apart from all other stylists who do hair extensions, as she is always aware of the newest and best products available. While hair extensions have only been popular in the real world for the past five years, the entertainment industry has long been utilizing wigs and hairpieces to create long, luscious locks or totally new looks.
WHERE DOES THE HAIR COME FROM?
Susan picks only the highest quality hair from India and Europe. The most elite kind is virgin European blonde hair that has never been colored or treated so it is as natural as a child’s.
WHAT KIND OF SYSTEM DOES SUSAN USE?
As opposed to most salons that only use one kind of hair extension system, Susan is experienced with all of those available and is therefore able to personalize them to each client’s individual wants and needs. After meeting for an initial consultation, they are giving the most suitable options depending on their lifestyle and how long they want them to last. Susan has a choice of keratin polymer that wraps around the hair, copper clips, skin wefts or shrink tubes. She works with all the popular brands including Great Lengths, Hair Dreams and Hair Locks if clients would like a specific type. All of this adds up to a much more personal treatment than most salons offer.
HOW LONG DO THE EXTENSIONS LAST?
They last from two to four months and the most common problems occur when women leave them in for longer than the recommended time causing damage to their own hair. If the copper or shrink fit tubes are used then the original hair can be replaced, but with the keratin polymer new hair is recommended.
WHY DO SOME PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH HAIR EXTENSIONS?
The bad reputation hair extensions get stems from people not being taught how to look after them properly and/or leaving them in for too long. They are a commitment but you will get beautiful results with no damage to your own hair if you care for them properly.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
The client comes in for an initial consultation and then the actual process of attaching the extensions takes two to three hours, and their color should be freshly done before the application.
HOW MUCH DO EXTENSIONS COST?
Prices vary from $7 to $20 per bond (unit of hair strands) and around 150 are used, totally to $1000 to $3000 depending on density, length and amount of pieces put in.
